Should Social Networking Network Sites Be Banned?

If you are a avid new fan and regularly follow the news then you will have probably have heard about the case of the young girl that committed suicide after her so called my space boyfriend told her he wasn't interested in her? Who was her my space friend , in-fact not a teenage boy as she first assumed it was her jealous next door neighbour that was old enough to be her mum.
More recently the case in the UK of a jealous husband that has just received a life sentence for killing his wife. What was the reason for killing her? the very fact that she decided to declare herself as single on her face book profile. Whereas when she had been living with him before their separation when she finally left him and made the change he tracked her down and stabbed her to death.
Both these cases are extremely disturbing to hear about and most certainly leave me to question are social network sites safe ad should they be sht down?

OK we have 2 case out of the millions of people that use the Internet each year and take part in the online communities , but the figure of 2 still represents where it went wrong and just how dangerous the net can be when used without severe precaution.
Safety Online
When you are surfing the bet try your very best not to give out personal details, its very easy to be mislead jack Jones could to out to be Freddy cruger and you could be setting yourself up for a death trap.
NEVER MEET ANYONE YOU MET ONLINE IN PERSON.Notice the bolding I have used to type this sentence that is because it is awfully easy to think you are meeting someone that you really are not ! it could be a murder, a convicted criminal you name it, if you ever do want to meet someone perhaps take a friend along with you that is after you have checked them out properly, IE talked on the phone have a true image of whom they are .
Don't allow kids to surf the net alone. Kids are vulnerable and very naive they don't have a clue about the bad things that happen in life and there fore they are not responsible enough to be left to use an Internet facility alone.
Use your brain , its free to tune into your brain waves and comes with the added beneft of natural instinct.
When Used Carefully The Net Can Be Fun
If you use the net safely and are not silly and naive then there is no reason why you shouldn't be a member of social networking sites such as my space and face book. It is a fun thing to do in your spare time and the net is also a great channel for earning cash and opening your mind up to what is happening in the world.

It is really scary to use social networking sites but like what write83 said it depends. So, be careful in using social networking. As much as possible do not right anything that can lead to problems.

No one's opposing the real problem. Agreements and disagreements are meaningless w/o logic. Opinion and interest causes all evil. That's logic. She committed suicide cause of disinterest/disagreement. Opinion is what causes people to abuse and kill in the first place. Most of you who agree or disagree are being fake/stupid. Don't speak until if you agree with materialism and self-desire. That's what caused this tragedy in the first place. We can't be honest or prevent evils until criticize materialism/self-desire. Everything else is an opinion and effect.

I think it depends how you use them ! mot people use them in a sensible manner and thast fine. It should be the people that mess around with them and abuse the sites that should be banned.
